ATTN: The following text is a transcript of the information given to the team at the start of the day. Each day the teams recieve new instructions for the days events. The coverage of each day will begin with this.. Enjoy!!!
INTRODUCTION: This is by far the longest section of your adventure; therefore is the easiest. We apologize it's so long - there was no other way - however Baton Rouge wants you to know it will be well worth it. This CD contains three sets of instructions: Destination Information, your mission and rendezvous information. Thisn section of the rally will operate differently in order to accommodate your police escort, graciously provided by the Louisiana State Police and the city of Baton Rouge.
NAVIGATION & DESTINATION: Today you will navigate to the Hancock County Rest Area and Welcome Center in Mississippi by way of I-4 to the Florida Turnpike to I-75 to I-10, sort of. Your arrival window is between 5:00 and 6:00pm local time. A one hour allowance was added to accomplish your mission and for brief fuel and rest stops along the way. This is the "only" section of the game where there is a formal and informal finish line. Arriving prior to 4:30pm will result in a point loss penalty, arriving outside of the one hour window will result in your being left behind; and a zero score for this leg of the event. The goal is to be the first to accomplish your mission, navigate your route, (ditch your tail) and roll into driver check-in within the allowable time.
MISSION: Your mission is to chill with the Queen of Bagdad; once located take a picture of your vehicle with the Queen. Keep your eyes open; the Queen will appear just off an exit somewhere between Tallahassee and Pensacola, Florida along I-10. Once you have accomplished this mission proceed directly to the Hancock County Welcome Center in Mississippi and present your proof and authentication license to the bioTraits SUV. Once authenticated please patiently wait as all the other teams arrive.
SUPPLIMENTAL: Onve you have completed your mission, proceed directly to the "informal but official" finish at the Hancock County Rest Area and Welcome Center in Mississippi. Be there between 5:00 and 6:pm local time. Find the bioTraits SUV and check-in. We will all rendezvous here- once everyone possible has been collected- we'll be escorted by the Louisiana State Police, "motorcade" style, from the Louisiana State line directly to the "ceremonial" finish line in downtown Baton Rouge, where you are the guests of honor at a private reception hosted by the City of Baton Rouge. Please note there will be several police transfers. If you become separated from the motorcade for whatever reason- DO NOT ABUSE THE SPEED LIMIT TO CATCH UP! Do your best to return to the motorcade but not at the expense of safety. If you remain disconnected simply proceed to the Sheraton Baton Rouge Convetion Center Hotel in Baton Rouge and check in. The evening reception will already be underway nearby.
